At ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ College, we understand that living away from home can be a significant adjustment for both students and their families. That’s why we place a strong emphasis on the wellbeing and care of our boarders, ensuring they feel supported, safe, and connected. Our programs and facilities are designed to promote a balanced and fulfilling life, helping students thrive physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

A Home Away from Home

We know that homesickness and occasional illness are natural parts of the boarding experience. Our dedicated team goes above and beyond to create a nurturing environment where students feel at home. The daily rhythms of boarding life are thoughtfully designed to mirror the warmth and structure of a family home, fostering a sense of stability and belonging.

Supportive Staff & Mentors

We believe that a strong support network is the foundation of a positive boarding experience. That’s why we’ve built a dedicated team of caring and approachable staff who are committed to the wellbeing and success of every boarder. From academic guidance to emotional support, our staff are always there to lend a helping hand and ensure students feel valued and connected.

Learning Mentors

Each student’s first line of support is their Learning Mentor, a trusted figure within their House who provides personalised guidance and encouragement. Learning Mentors play a vital role in helping students navigate the challenges of school life, offering advice on everything from academic progress to personal development.

Live-In Boarding Staff

Our full-time, live-in boarding staff are the heart of the boarding experience, providing round-the-clock care and supervision. These dedicated professionals create a stable and nurturing environment where students feel safe and supported at all times. Whether it’s a friendly chat after a long day, help with a personal challenge, or simply a warm smile, the boarding staff are always available to ensure students feel at home.

The Well: Student Services & Health Centre

At the heart of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ College’s wellbeing initiatives is The Well, a dedicated student services centre designed to make every student feel welcome, safe, and supported. The Well is a hub of inclusivity, with flexible and varied spaces that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

Whether it’s a quiet corner for reflection, a collaborative area for group work, or a welcoming space to socialise, The Well ensures that every student feels valued and included, and has access to a range of essential services, including:

  • Student Services which include the personalised learning team that includes teaching leaders, a speech pathologist, learning support officers (LSOs), and administrative staff. This team works collaboratively to provide tailored support for students, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • The Health Centre is staffed by registered nurses, a psychologist, and counsellors who are available to address both physical and emotional health concerns. This team provides compassionate care and professional support, ensuring that students have the resources they need to navigate challenges and maintain their wellbeing.

Student Health & Wellness

Our health services are designed to provide a safety net for students, ensuring they feel cared for and supported throughout their boarding experience. From physical health to emotional wellbeing, our comprehensive services are designed to provide peace of mind for both students and their families.

Onsite Registered Nurses

Our two registered nurses are available to assist boarders with any health concerns, from minor illnesses to more serious conditions. They arrange appointments with local GPs, dentists, and other health professionals to ensure students receive timely and appropriate care. Nurses provide treatment and support for boarders who may be unwell, offering a comforting presence when students need it most.

Medication Management

All nursing and boarding staff are trained in administering medications, including emergency treatments such as EpiPens, asthma inhalers, and insulin. Families can open an account with a local pharmacy to ensure seamless access to prescription or non-prescription medications.

Policies & Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of our students are at the heart of everything we do. ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ College is committed to maintaining a secure, respectful, and inclusive environment where every boarder can feel safe and valued.

Key policies Include:

  • Boarder Code of Conduct: This code promotes respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour among all boarders, fostering a harmonious and supportive community.
  • Child Safeguarding Policies: We have stringent child safeguarding measures in place to protect students from harm and ensure their safety at all times.
  • Harassment and Bullying Policies: Our zero-tolerance approach to harassment and bullying ensures that every student feels respected and included.

These policies are supported by regular training for staff and clear communication with students and families, ensuring that everyone understands their role in creating a safe and welcoming environment.
